Amok Trei (Cambodian food)

Cambodia is a country in the South East Asian region and Indochina peninsula of the Asian continent.

It's capital city is Phnom Penh.

It has a population of about 16.2 million people.




Amok Trei or Fish Amok is a famous Cambodian food.

Amok Trei refers to boneless freshwater fish fillets steam cooked together with coconut milk, eggs, fish sauce, palm sugar and a special paste called Kroeung.

They are steam cooked in a banana leaf which is shaped into a bowl.

Amok Trei is normally served together with white rice.

It is mostly eaten for lunch.
