It is made of flour, eggplant, baking soda, turmeric, cumin, chili powder, salt and oil.

It is prepared by mixing the sliced eggplants with the ingredients before being fried in hot oil. 

It is normally served with yogurt based sauce or chutney.

It is mostly eaten as snack food.
