Tam Mak Hoong or Tam Mahoung is a famous Laotian dish.

Tam Mak Hoong is green papaya salad.

It is made of green papaya, garlic, red chili, brown sugar, shrimp paste, fish sauce,long bean, carrots, cherry tomatoes and lime juice.

It is normally garnished with cherry tomatoes.

It is usually served with rice, noodles, egg rolls or coconut curry.

It is mostly eaten for lunch or as snack food.
