Handesh is sweet deep fried date molasses cakes.

It is made of plain flour, rice flour, date molasses, sugar, cinnamon, cardamom and oil.

It is prepared by mixing all the ingredients to produce a thick batter which is then left overnight before fried in oil until brown.

It is mostly eaten as dessert.
