Arepa is a type of bread made from ground maize dough or cooked flour. It is a flat, round or unleavened patty of soaked ground maize flour that is grilled, baked, fried or boiled.
It can be eaten with cheese or fermented milk or made into sandwiches.
It is normally topped or filled with chicken meat, eggs, tomatoes, salad, cheese, shrimp or fish depending on the meal.
It is normally eaten for breakfast.
