Tamal de Pollo (El Salvador food)

El Salvador is a country in Central American region of the North American continent.

It's capital city is San Salvador.

It has a population of about 6.3 million people.




Tamal de Pollo is a famous El Salvadorian dish.

Tamal de Pollo is corn maize dough filled with shredded chicken.

It is made of corn flour, cornmeal, chicken, tomatoes, onion, potatoes, garlic, carrots, chickpeas, green beans, green olives, cilantro, green sweet pepper, celery, chicken broth, relajo spices, achiote annato, banana leaves and oil.

It is prepared by mixing all the ingredients which is then wrapped in banana leaves and boiled or steamed.

It is mostly eaten for lunch or as snack food.
