Lakeno is a famous Solomon Islands dish.

Lakeno is made from a starchy root crop called taro which is mixed with coconut cream.

It is prepared by boiling the peeled taro and mashing it into a smooth paste using a pestle. It is then put on a banana leaves on a plate and covered with layers of boiled coconut cream. The mixture is then wrapped with the banana leaves and cooked in the oven.

It is normally served as a side dish for fish or chicken meal for lunch.
