It has a population of about 1.3 million people.





Fish Vindaye is a famous Mauritian dish.

Fish Vindaye is a fried and pickled fish dish.

It is made of fish, onions, turmeric, mustard seeds, garlic, ginger sauce, curry leaves, thyme, parsley, black pepper, salt and oil.

It is normally served with rice and vegetables.

It is mostly eaten for lunch.
