It's capital city is Maseru.
It has a population of about 2.2 million people.
Chakalaka is a famous Basotho dish.
Chakalaka is a spicy vegetable stew.
It is made of onions, carrots, tomatoes, pepper, green bell pepper, curry powder, green chillies, chili poweder, salt and oil.
It is normally served with a cornmeal porridge called Putupap.
It is mostly eaten for lunch.
