Chikanda is a type of savory snack made from tuber of chikanda orchids.
It is made of chikanda or ground orchids, groundnuts, soda, chili powder and salt.
It is prepared by drying and pounding tuber of orchids which is then mixed with the ingredients and cooked.
It is mostly eaten as dessert, snack or as side dish for Nshima maize porridge.
