Gyro is a type of chicken sandwich.

Gyro is made of chicken meat which is cooked on a vertical rotisserie and then cut into round, thin, flat slices and mixed with spices like salt, sweet paprika, pepper, dried parsley, garlic powder and oregano.

It is normally served in a grilled piece of flatbread like pita, rolled up with chicken slices, tomatoes, chopped onions, fries and tzatziki sauce.

It is mostly eaten for lunch.
