Diri ak Djon Djon is a famous Haitian food.

Diri ak Djon Djon is a rice with mushroom dish.

It is made from long grain rice, black mushrooms, garlic, butter, salt, pepper and thyme.

It is prepared by boiling the rice with black mushrooms which release a grayish-black colouring, giving the rice it's gray colour and the dish's flavour.

It is normally served with meat such as chicken, fish or shrimp which is usually mixed in the rice.

It is mostly eaten for lunch.
