Italy is a country in the Southern European region of the European continent.

It's capital city is Rome.

It has a population of about 60.5 million people.




Pasta is a famous Italian food.

Pasta refers to noodles of various lengths, widths and shapes, either topped with a sauce or filled with other ingredients.

Common Pasta shapes include long and short shapes, tubes, flat shapes or sheets. Pasta are divided into dried pasta like Penne and Spaghetti, fresh pasta like Fettuccine and filled pasta like Lasagna.

Pasta is made from unleavened dough of durum wheat floor mixed with water or eggs and formed into sheets or various shapes and then cooked by being boiled or baked.

Pasta is served with particular ingredients according to the types and shapes of each like tomato sauce, cheese, mushroom cream sauce, pesto, olive oil, pepper, garlic, parsley, fresh tomato and other meat or spicy sauces like arrabiata.

Pasta can be eaten as a part of the meal for lunch or as a main meal for dinner.
